EDS is based on the principle that slight changes in the electrical impedance of a persons skin occurs when an allergen is placed on an electrical circuit. Electro-Dermal Screening: EDS tests the body via Acupuncture points with a Pressure Probe. This procedure is also known as Bio-Energetic testing, or as I say 'feeling the force'. Electro-Dermal Screening/Bio-Energetics is a method of testing for problems in the body. We begin by testing the different points on the fingers and toes to register the frequencies of the various points (there are 40 main points - 2 on each finger and toe). Electro-Dermal testing procedure works like this: the patient holds a passive electrode that is connected by circuit to a probe held by the examiner. The examiner then touches the probe to an acupuncture point on the patients skin. The greater the sensitivity of the patient to the allergen, the higher the reading on the galvanometer. (an instrument for detecting and measuring electric current).

A graph is created on the computer which enables us to analyze the data and determine what is causing the main 'disturbance' in the body. The disturbances show as 'highs and lows' on the graph and due to this modern technology we can highlight specific areas to start working on. The graph indicates a range of frequencies from 1 - 100 with 50 being the 'normal range' we are hoping for. These numbers indicate if a patient's energy is out of balance.
